Post #1 of the 2014 Blogger Challenge is New Years Inspiration and asks us to share a quote or a picture that inspires us. I was very excited when I read the first challenge because the transition into a new year has never meant as much to me as it means this year. As I said in a previous post, I did have a good 2013 and had several great things happen like my trip to Ireland over spring break and my college graduation. I don't want to sound like I'm whining because I'm very grateful to be in the situation I'm in and have people around me that are so supportive but a lot of 2013 was full of post-college job search disappointments. If you're currently looking for a full time job, you'll probably understand, and that's why I want to be honest with you guys, because we can help inspire each other. Even if you're not in a similar situation, I hope these quotes inspire you this year to meet whatever goals you've set for yourself!

I'm not positive, but I believe I got this from someone else's Blogger Challenge post and it really struck me. As you can probably guess from my intro, the right opportunity hasn't knocked for me yet so I'm building a door and considering other options until the time comes. Creating this blog was part of me building a door for myself. It's a place where I can do what I want, when I want and the way I want to and no one can tell me it's wrong. I've really enjoyed having a little "escape" from other things in life and be able to talk about fun things with people that share the same interests. I have another fun project that I've been considering and planning for so hopefully it'll actually happen and I'll be able to share it with you guys!

The second inspirational quote I want to share is very simple. I know that no matter how much sadness, disappointment or heartache we may feel, the only way from here is up and there is always something amazing on the horizon.
I don't generally write very personal posts so it makes me feel a little self-conscious, I'm not gonna lie, but hopefully it's inspired you guys and I hope you've had a great start to the new year!
Great post - not being able to find a job actually made me create my own job - I know run my own ebay store and keep very busy with all my sales.
ReplyDeleteGood luck!
Thank you! That's so awesome!
Deletehi ivy, i love what you said here "Creating this blog was part of me building a door for myself. " mainly because I can relate, somehow. I've been dealing with depression for many years now and it felt like i was stuck most of the time. so i had an idea to start a blog thinking that it would help me keep moving forward and it does help :) this is quite inspiring thanks for sharing your story :)
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you've found something to keep you motivated! I've really enjoyed setting blogging goals for myself and watching it all grow these last several months, so it's helped me so much to feel like I have something to accomplish :)
DeleteI love both of these quotes - especially the last one! Such good words to remember! I'm wishing you luck in your searches!

I think so too! Thanks so much! :)
DeleteI totally feel you girlfriend, the job market sucks. There are just not enough jobs out there and there are way too many overqualified people like us! Hopefully it will get better in 2014...
