Late to the Party: Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Dark Circle Eraser

This product has been talked about so much, but I just recently decided to try it out for myself. I got the shade 110 Fair.

You've probably all seen it before, but it has the sponge applicator on the top. Not necessarily the most hygienic, but it doesn't get used on blemishes, so it's not a big deal to me. Also, it's supposed to be anti-microbial, so that's a plus.

I like how easy it is to apply. I just swipe it on underneath my eyes and extend it onto the tops of my cheekbones slightly and then pat it in with my ring finger. I like to add a little extra on the cheekbone area because it provides a mild highlighting affect that isn't too overdone.

You can see from the picture above that it does make a difference. It doesn't completely get rid of dark under eyes, but it does a good enough job for me.

This concealer claims to be a "treatment concealer" has has Gogi Berry and Haloxyl, which are supposed to help instantly erase dark circles and fine lines and diminish puffiness.

I don't get puffiness, so I can't say anything about that claim, but while the product does "erase" dark circles (for the most part), in my opinion, it doesn't erase fine lines...at all. I'm only 22 so I don't have bad lines, but this concealer totally creases and sinks into the lines that I do have. The texture of it is kind of strange as well because its pretty thin, but almost...greasy feeling? I'm assuming it has to be thin because it has to be able to come through the sponge tip and it feels like it never really sets. If I stick my finger over it once I've applied it, it's going to leave a mark, which I really dislike.

Overall, this is a nice product. It does give a nice glowy effect under the eyes and makes me look refreshed like the packaging says it will. However, I don't think it does wonders and I won't repurchase it, but it is an interesting product and I will continue to use it up until it's gone.

What do you guys think about this? Have you tried it? What have been your experiences with it?

  4. This looks wonderful! I have heard about the foundation but I never paid any attention to the concealer they had of it. I use the Clinique highlighting ''pen'' underneath my eyes but this definitely looks like it has more coverage. Thanks for sharing :)
