Mally Golden Rule of Beauty Gift Set: Eyes

This is my second installment on the Mally Golden Rule of Beauty Gift set and in this post I'll be talking about the eye products that it came with. If you missed my last post click here so you can read about the lip and cheek products.

The firs product I'll be talking about is the Evercolor Starlight Waterproof liner in Midnight. As you can see, it's very dark and pigmented. I think we all can appreciate a pigmented liner so we're not pulling on our eyes trying to get color.
It's also super creamy which I love, because I like to take a small brush and flick it up into a slight cat-eye so I'm glad that I'm able to manipulate it and smooth out the line if I need to. I'm not the best at eyeliner, so this being easy for me makes it awesome in my book. Don't be fooled, though, while it is really creamy and I can smooth it out, it doesn't budge throughout the day.

The eyeshadow that the set came with is called Brownstone. Like the blush, the eyeshadow singles come in a compact with a mirror. You can also remove the shadow from the compact, if you can see the little lip at the bottom of the pan. I'm not sure what the purpose of this is but it could come in handy.

The shade itself is a cool-toned brown with subtle hints of shimmer. It's not as pigmented as other products I've talked about, but I kind of like that for this product. I like that I don't have to be super careful when applying it and worrying that it's going to get out of control and dark. It applies a nice wash of color that adds a pretty sheen to the eyes.

The Volumizing mascara is probably the most famous product from Mally and I definitely find what most people say about it to be true, that it gets better with age. The formula is quite wet, so over time it dries out a little and just becomes better. I think that from the start it is volumizing, but over time as it dries out little by little, it helps lengthen as well because the formula isn't as wet and weighing. I liked this product and I'm glad I got to try it, but I don't think I would repurchase just because it didn't "wow" me enough to switch from my favorite drugstore one.

I hope you guys enjoyed these posts on this gift set. Hopefully this set, or a similar one will come out for the holidays this year because I would definitely recommend this, especially for the price!!

One night, after a long and tiring day at work, I somehow found myself in Ulta...such a dangerous time because I felt as if I "deserved" to treat myself- ha!

One of the items I purchased that night was the Becca Beach Tint in the color Watermelon/Moonstone. It was just before the Fourth of July because I was going out of town and I had to pack light because I was only taking a carry on. I wanted a couple of products I could apply quickly and with minimal brushes so this is one of the products I got for that purpose!

The middle photo is one of the photos I took of it before I used it, but I was so anxious to dig into it that the photos weren't great so my apologies on that one. However, I went for the Watermelon/Moonstone because peachy-pink blush is a go-to for me so I knew I would get a lot of use out of this color. I really liked the idea of an easy apply tint of color that I could quickly dab on, no brush needed and move on to the next thing. I'm happy to say that this product is all of those things for me and definitely worked well for the purpose I wanted it for.

The color is really pretty, like I said, peachy-pink is a good go-to color. The pigmentation on this product is nice too; pigmented enough but not so much that I'm scared to use it and it's difficult to blend out. It is called a "Shimmer Soufle" so it does have shimmer, but it's not chunky, so it just gives a subtle sheen to the skin.

It is a little on the expensive side, but if you're wanting to treat yourself like I was or you've just been curious and have wanted to try it or a cream blush in general, I would highly recommend it!

Mally Golden Rule of Beauty: Lips & Cheeks

I decided to divide my post up on the Mally Golden Rule of Beauty gift set because it came with quite a few products. This gift set was out last year around the holidays so I'm not sure if it's going to be back this year. If it's not, I think these are all products from the regular line (if not the exact color, the product in general) so I decided to continue with the review anyway. I asked for this set last year so that I could try out a number of products from the brand, which it definitely accomplished, but I'm going to focus more on formulas since the set was limited edition.

This post is going to cover the lip and cheek products that came with the set, so I'll go ahead and get into it!

First off is the blush. As you can see from the first image, it comes in a really cute pink compact with a mirror on the inside and the shade is in Mally's Baby. The color itself gives a really natural, soft pink flush to the cheeks that is very pigmented so a little goes a long way. The formula is very smooth to swatch and to apply to the cheeks. It's not chalky or patchy, it's just very easy and quick to apply.

The liquid lipstick was my favorite product that came in the set. The shade was in Just Heaven, which is a soft pinky-nude, right up my alley! I love the tube it comes in because it looks so nice with the gold ends and it feels high end because it's got a little weight to it. I also really like the brush applicator at the end because it makes it so easy to put on. When I had this, I used it every single day, so it's been LONG gone, but I remember the formula again, being really smooth. It's pigmented for as light of a shade as it is and it's not sticky or thick. It lasts a while, but when it does start wearing off you can't tell and it doesn't look weird of patchy. Overall, it's a very easy product to apply and wear.

I know this was a SUPER late post on this set, but I still wanted to do it because I did and do still enjoy the products. I would definitely recommend that you guys try this brand or even wait to see what gift sets come out this year to try a little bit of everything at once like I did!

Look out for the next post on the set about the eye products that came in it!
