Late to the Party: Beauty Blender

It has finally happened you guys! I am now the proud owner of The Beauty Blender! Since I started wearing foundation years ago, I have always been a big fan of sponges. I feel like I get the best finish with a sponge because you get no streaks like a brush and you get good coverage unlike when I use my fingers because it ends up blending the foundation in too much for me. Until my birthday when my boyfriend gave me the Beauty Blenders, I've always used disposable sponges and been fine with it. However, since the Beauty Blender came out and got popular I've been itching to try it, but honestly, never wanted to spend $20 on a sponge, despite the amazing reviews.

I won't blab on too much about it because I know you've all seen it and heard about it by now, but before you apply your foundation you wet your beauty blender and you'll see that it expands to about twice the size than when it's dry. After you wet it, it becomes even softer and bouncier. It's honestly different than any sponge I've ever used before because of how light and airy it is, it feels like there's nothing to it when you squeeze it, but that's what makes it so awesome!

As for makeup application, it gives an amazing finish to the skin. It's a little dewy, especially at first because the sponge is wet, but once your foundation dries your skin will have a beautiful glow. It blends foundation and concealer in perfectly and it's of course, a great feature that it has the pointed end for under the eye and around the nose concealing.

You can also use these with powder products, which I have tried and it actually does do a nice job. I've found that it doesn't apply too much powder to an area and make it look cakey. It provides a light application that is blended perfectly and helps the makeup look like skin, not like layers sitting on top of it.

Keep in mind that you are technically supposed to replace these every three to four months so it can be a costly tool, but I cannot recommend it enough. It helps me get my foundation on faster than ever because of how big it gets when you wet it, and more natural looking than ever and I couldn't be happier about it!

  1. I've still never tried the BeautyBlender so I guess I'll be super SUPER late to the party if I ever do! I just can't get past the price tag, plus I usually use a brush. Still, I really want to try it because the results sound great...

    1. I know, they're pretty pricey for what they are. I'll probably extend the life of them a little bit so I won't have to buy them as often!

    1. Really? That's cool! I never tried a dupe because I always heard people say they were no good, so I never bothered. I do want to try the Real Techniques version though. xx

  5. I absolutely love the Beauty Blender too, I don't think I can go back to using regular sponges or fake beauty blenders. They are pricey, but definitely worth it in my book, I already have a backup for my backup! LOL!!

    1. You should treat yourself! I'm sure you would love it, but it is pretty expensive for a sponge!

  8. Ah, see I HATE sponges and am a tried and true brush girl, but I keep hearing so much about these sponges. Maybe I will give the knock off versions at Marshalls a try first before I decide whether or not to bite the bullet and make the investment.

    1. Most of the time I hear the knock offs aren't very good, it might get you used to using a sponge though so you can try to like them!

  13. I have a beauty blender dupe and like it a lot, I probably wouldn't get this one though purely because it would end up being very expensive.

    1. I think I'll try the Real Techniques one when it's time to get rid of these because it will get expensive. Thanks for reading :)
